About Us

Buckley’s Flooring is truly a family business. We pride ourselves on providing great quality at fair prices.

Donald Buckley and Ruby Buckley started the flooring business in  the late 1960’s, soon after closing a small Danville restaurant that included a candy counter, pin ball machine, juke box, and a dance floor!

The flooring business started small – selling from a small store front on Mill Street with inventory at a few garages around Danville.  The business was initially focused on tile and linoleum.  Mr. Buckley did sales, measuring, installation and estimates/billing.  Mrs. Buckley handled sales, ordering, and banking.  Don helped several families recover their carpets after Hurricane Agnes in 1972, by removing/washing/drying and re-installing.  Of course – many Danville homes needed new floors and Buckley’s responded – and grew in the process.

In the mid 1970’s – the business moved to the Railroad Station at the corner of what was then Walnut and Railroad Street.   The Buckleys expanded into carpet and were able to obtain good deals on carpet and then stock that carpet to provide good value to customers.  The business grew and required aligning with experienced installers and hiring employees that became part of the extended Buckley family.

Though Mr. Buckley retired in the late 90’s, Mrs. Buckley remained the matriarch; she happily greeted customers, especially those with Children (who she tempted with candy, toys, and books).   Every night she still completed the bill paying and deposits

Through the years – the market changed from tile & linoleum to carpet to hardwood floors to luxury vinyl.   The Buckleys adapted.

Mrs. Buckley retired at the start of Covid, but the store successfully opened for business soon after Pennsylvania allowed retail stores to reopen.  Ruby relaxed at home, took some vacations with children, and sadly passed away in 2023.

We are proud to continue providing quality floors to customers in the Central Susquehanna Valley.   Buckley’s current extended family employees are Tim (+40 years), Katrina (+20 years), and Jeff (approaching 10 years).
